“I would like to share my experience from this year’s ESOP conference, held in Reno, Nevada. These conferences are attended by committee members representing various ESOP companies from the Western United States, for the purpose of creating networking opportunities and sharing perspectives and experiences of being on ESOP committees. At the opening meet and greet event, about twelve different companies set up booths to share their backgrounds and past ESOP event experience. This was a great ice breaker for event attendees. The next couple of days featured specialty courses on a variety of topics. My personal goal for this event was to gain more perspective from other companies on their ESOP culture. The courses I attended were very informative, and gave me a fresh perspective on creating a culture that was both fun and educational. The conference audience was made up of roughly 80% first-time attendees, who collectively brought new perspectives and enthusiasm to the event. Overall, it was a very fun and educational conference, and I hope all of my fellow committee members can attend at least once.”
