In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we always take time to highlight the amazing impact the Latino community continues to have on the construction industry, and the economy in general. Research shows that 27.3% of workers in construction are of Hispanic or Latino ethnicity. Hispanics are projected to account for 78% of net new workers between 2020 and 2030. The U.S. labor force growth rate has slowed over the past couple of decades, and what growth has occurred is largely due to the increasing number of Hispanic workers.
Not only have Hispanics contributed to the construction industry, they continue to advance communities across the country as small business owners, veterans, teachers, and public servants, among many other professions. Hispanic Heritage Month allows us to recognize their achievements and contributions across all industries. Recognizing these efforts is an important step to creating a society built on mutual respect and admiration for everyone in our country. Hispanic Heritage Month can be celebrated by attending music festivals, parades, art shows, conferences, and community gatherings, and by supporting Hispanic businesses.
