This is Bayview Demolition Services’ first project with Oltmans Construction. It is located at the SW Carpenters Union Office & Training Facility in Carson. We removed the interior finishes of the two-story office space and cut a large opening in a concrete filled pan deck for a new staircase. After the soft demo we moved into the hard demolition of the concrete slab on grade to allow for new plumbing services to be installed. In addition to the slab removal, we sawcut openings in precast concrete panels for a new roll up door and multiple man door openings. In the warehouse we removed a metal mezzanine before grinding over 5,000sf of epoxy. There has been over $100,000 in change orders added to the contract due to design changes and us picking up other subcontractors’ demolition scope, mainly with the exterior site work trenching and demolition of the trash enclosure.
