Project Summary
Bayview delivered a comprehensive, multi-discipline project for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), involving hazardous materials remediation, interior demolition, and industrial systems decommissioning across a 150,000-square-foot government facility.
This 17-month project required full-service environmental abatement and demolition within a historically significant five-story office tower and adjacent parking structure. The environmental scope included the abatement of asbestos-containing materials and the remediation of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) found in fireproofing, floor tiles, mastics, and various sealants. All work was performed in compliance with stringent environmental and occupational safety regulations, with continuous monitoring and documentation to meet agency reporting requirements.
With a workforce of 85 skilled tradespeople and technicians, Bayview successfully managed complex coordination across all three of its divisions, demonstrating its capability to self-perform and manage diverse scopes under a single contract. The project exemplifies Bayview’s depth of experience in managing large-scale, regulated, and historically sensitive public-sector infrastructure projects.
