Project Summary
This project encompassed the full abatement and demolition of three floors—each spanning approximately 20,000 square feet—as well as the complete removal and disposal of 20,000 square feet of roofing materials. The roof system included gravel, multiple felt layers, and 12-inch-thick lightweight concrete.
Because the surrounding campus and library remained open to students and faculty during construction, the work required meticulous planning and execution. Bayview constructed a negative-airflow system to safely offload roof debris and asbestos waste directly from the roof into 40-yard dumpsters, minimizing disruption and ensuring compliance with all environmental and safety standards.
