Project Summary
Bayview Environmental was responsible for securing all the utilities to the building and installing temporary power for the abatement. The hazardous materials included asbestos fireproofing, flooring, and thermal insulation throughout the building, inside wall and ceiling spaces as well as in mechanical rooms, and the removal of pavers to access asbestos waterproofing material. Other hazards included: mercury, lead-containing materials, miscellaneous asbestos-containing materials, PCBs, and chemical waste. We also performed exterior grading to install a road for the truck route and washing station to control mud and debris from being carried onto the surrounding roads and streets. We enclosed the entire building by installing a scaffold around the perimeter of the building and interior courtyard, and then wrapped the scaffold with shrink wrap to contain the hazards.
