Project Summary
At this active hospital facility, asbestos was identified in structural steel fireproofing, interior walls, flooring materials, and within the concrete slabs and foundations. The overall project goal was to complete demolition and abatement to prepare the area for a new pharmacy. Bayview performed comprehensive asbestos abatement, along with saw cutting and concrete removal, to support the general contractor’s reconstruction plans.
The scope also included roofing removal to access the steel roof trusses, which were coated with lead paint. Bayview removed the roofing and pan deck to expose the trusses and safely abated the lead paint to allow for necessary structural repairs. The project demonstrated Bayview’s expertise in managing complex abatement and demolition work in an active hospital environment while maintaining strict safety and regulatory compliance.
