The project at 1 North 1st Street involves selective demolition, hazardous materials abatement, and soil excavation at a four-story office building in Downtown San Jose. The demolition scope includes removal of concrete walls, concrete slabs, structural steel, and excavation for new elevator pits and footings, as well as sandblasting of large wooden beams. The abatement work covers floor tile, mastic, and lead paint removal from structural steel throughout the building. The project is phased, with demolition and abatement scheduled for completion in early Summer 2020. Bayview Demolition’s contract for the project is currently valued at over $1,200,000.
